How to Create a Flickr.com Account

  1. Go to www.flickr.com.
  2. If you are a new member click the sign up button. Either enter a Yahoo! ID if you have one or click the sign up button if you do not.
  3. Fill in the information and create a user name and password. Click “I Agree” to continue.
  4. Take note of the information regarding your account and verify the alternate email address by opening the email and clicking on the given link.
  5. Enter your password and the verification code from the email.
  6. Click on “Continue to Yahoo!”.
  7. Under “Create a new Flickr account” choose a user name and click “sign in”.
  8. If you have a Yahoo! ID you will go straight to the create a new Flickr account screen to choose a user name and sign in.


How to Join the “Greenpeace Students” Group

  1. Go to www.flickr.com and click on the “sign in” button at the top right of the screen.
  2. Choose “sign in with a Yahoo! ID” and enter your user name and password.
  3. Click “Groups” in the row at the top of the screen.
  4. Enter “Greenpeace Students” into the “Find a group” box.
  5. Scroll down and find “Greenpeace Students” and click on it.
  6. Click on “Join this Group” on the right hand side of the screen.
  7. Click “Join this Group” a second time when it asks if you really want to join.
  8. You are now a member of the group.


How to Upload a Picture to a Group

  1. On the home screen of Flickr.com choose Upload Photos on the right side.
  2. Under number 1 click “Browse…” Locate the picture and open it.
  3. Add tags if you want words to be attached to the photo so it is easy to sort and retrieve.
  4. Check the public box.
  5. Click “Upload”.
  6. After waiting a few seconds you may enter a description or tag the photo again.
  7. Save the photo.
  8. On the photo’s page click on the “Send to group” icon above the photo, select the group “Greenpeace Students” and you are finished. The photo should now show up on GreenpeaceStudents.org.
