Kleercut Campaign

Kimberly-Clark, the makers of Kleenex, are supporting the destruction of the North American Boreal Forest for toilet paper.

Help us stop KC from destroying ancient forests.

Students across the country are launching local campaigns to kick Kimberly-Clark products like Scott and Kleenex off of campus. Students at more than 100 campuses are working to ensure that student funds are not paying for ancient forest destruction.

Global Warming Campaign

America’s climate future will be determined by the choices made and the actions taken in 2009. Fortunately, many US politicians now recognize the need to address global warming. We must take advantage of this political opportunity while it lasts. That’s why 2009 is the year, and we are the people, who must act to solve global warming. We know the solutions. We have the power. But half-measures won’t do. If we fail, it won’t just be us who pay the price, but future generations as well. We must do what’s needed to solve the climate crisis.

The Obama Administration and Congress must:

1. Enact science-based legislation that will cut global warming pollution to levels consistent with what the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says is needed to prevent the worst effects of global warming: 25-40% reductions from 1990 levels by 2020 and at least 80% by 2050.

2. Invest $150 billion, including at least $50 billion in 2009, in new government funding for renewable energy solutions to jump-start the clean energy revolution.

3. Eliminate subsidies for dirty energy sources like coal and nuclear power, which are dirty and dangerous distractions form the true solutions to global warming and already receive massive government handouts.

How can you help secure our climate future?  Take these steps and use the  Global Warming Campaign Toolkit to guide your campaign:

1. Recruit a bus full of students to Power Shift 2009

2. Put your elected officials on the Hot Seat

3. Host an Inauguration viewing party on Jan 20th

4. Expose fossil fools on April 1st

5. Celebrate your 100 days of action
