Focus The Nation

By Whitney Kraner on 08.31.07

Hey everyone...I don't know about you, but Change It was exactly what I needed. Getting to campus can feel like walking up a flight of stairs in skates, but take a deeeeeep breath!

I'm back on campus and you just have to talk to EVERYONE...I promise there is at least one other human being that is into what you care about! If people seem down or negative and have no hope...Then just give up...Wait! NO. You have been inspired and given the skills to make change so now it is officially your duty to inspire others.

Look into Focus the Nation...They have a website, tools, and information on how to have a symposia on climate change at your school!!! My school has already begun the plans and you can get your president and student groups involved by having them endorse the event and state that national discussion on climate change is important!!!

I know you all can do it. Be aggressive in all that you do because we are running out of time. We are the ones who can change the future!!!

Hey you guys! Just wanted to

Hey you guys!

Just wanted to drop a note. After change it 07, some pretty cool things have been happening in the MD (maryland). I work with the Boys and Girls Club and we have begun implementing environmental education into our programs including eating local, composting, recylcing, growing your own food, cutting down on energy use, etc.
In addition, our campus is now using eco friendly toilet paper (hey hey!) and even though we dont recycle (yet) my roommates and I have gotten our dorm to do it in hopes of influencing the rest of the campus.
The best part: Our campus is arranging buses to go to PowerShift and back for those who can not stay the entire time and who do not have cars.

One step at a time..." a new world is not only possible, she is on her way"

Thank you for the "change it" experience, it has given me so much inspiration and focus.

Namaste mi hermanos y hermanas,
Dominique Marsalek-Pasadena, Md.
