If I were really Superman, I'd use my incredible powers to remove global warming pollutants from the air and create sustainable energy technologies. But I am, alas, only a Working Class Superhero, a musician who tries to use music to encourage people to take better care of their planet, themselves, and each other. I regularly play charity events, donating profits from CD and merchandise sales to organizations such as the San Diego Food Bank, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and Greenpeace.
In fact, I've been a supporter of Greenpeace since 1974, when I was five years old. I knew even then that hunting whales and seals to extinction, killing dolphins in tuna nets, and living every summer day with stage three smog alerts were bad things. All of those things have since gotten better, thanks in no small part to Greenpeace.
As kids, we all dreamed of being superheroes. Now we all have a real chance to actually save the world. But the Lex Luthors of the world want to drown us all in the name of 'profit'. This Working Class Superhero vows to fight them, and I hope you will too.
